Design Trends We Are Watching for 2026

A new year is upon us, which means a fresh wave of inspiration is beginning to take shape in the design world. While our projects always center around timeless, modern organic foundations, certain materials and silhouettes are emerging as the ones to watch for 2026. Here are the trends we see gaining momentum…

Sculptural simplicity

Furniture and décor are shifting toward pieces that feel like quiet works of art. We are heading into a season of soft, sculptural forms that add visual interest without feeling loud. Think curved accent chairs, organic shaped coffee tables, and ceramics with hand built character.

It’s finally official: The end of millennial gray

The era of cool gray interiors is officially behind us. Homeowners are gravitating toward warmer, more inviting tones that feel lived in rather than stark. Creamy whites, soft taupes, warm beiges, and natural wood tones are replacing flat grays, creating spaces that feel layered and welcoming. This shift allows rooms to feel timeless, grounded, and far more personal.

Statement texture through architectural detail

Texture continues to play a major role, but the focus is moving beyond soft finishes and into architectural elements. Statement wainscoting, reimagined shiplap, coffered ceilings, and thoughtfully applied limewash finishes are adding depth and character to walls and ceilings. These details create visual interest while reinforcing craftsmanship and intention throughout the home.

Earth centered palettes

Nature driven color palettes remain at the forefront. Warm clays, muted greens, soft browns, charcoal tones, and creamy neutrals form a grounded base that feels calming and sophisticated. These hues layer beautifully with natural materials and allow architectural details to shine without overwhelming a space.

A shift in statement stone

Taj Mahal quartzite remains a favorite, but we are seeing it everywhere (like… everywhere). Don’t get us wrong, we love a good Taj moment- we’ve used this beautiful stone in a few projects ourselves. However, we’re noticing that clients are beginning to explore stones that still feel warm and timeless, but with more dynamic movement. Rather than bold color alone, the emphasis is on breathtaking veining and character. Stones like Galactic White, Fantasy Brown, and Calacatta Viola bring depth, contrast, and a sense of artistry that feels elevated and intentional.

The return of wallpapered rooms

We have always loved the impact of a wallpapered space, and we are seeing it make a strong return. From powder baths to dining rooms and bedrooms, wallpaper is being used to create mood, texture, and personality. Whether through subtle grasscloth or bold and expressive print, it adds a layer of storytelling that paint alone cannot achieve.
